Representatives from South Australian metropolitan and regional Councils submitted a successful grant application to the South Australian Local Government Research and Development Scheme to implement a centralised publicly accessible on-line spatial portal.

The desired outcome is a user friendly and cost effective centrally hosted on-line spatial solution which provides the community with 24/7 access to information of interest to residents such as waste collection and development zoning using datasets sourced from numerous agencies.

The aim of this presentation is to provide an insight into the project's development, objectives, challenges and the way forward. It will also feature a live demonstration of the pilot portal website developed using MapInfo Exponare software.
